Zikit Theater is a multidisciplinary and multi-cultural theater, operating at Tefen in the Galilee.
The theater is located at El-Patio House in Tefen’s unique industrial area, and some of the productions make use of this structure’s different and interesting spaces. All of the group members are theater professionals, Galilee residents, Jews and Arabs. The theater distinctly addresses both of these crowds. The use of a visual universal language and few spoken words, makes the shows equally enjoyable for speakers of different languages.
Zikit Theater showcases rich and versatile means of expression including a puppet theater, object theater, movement and dance, and shadow theater.
The guiding principle for the art created by members of Zikit Theater is that more than just being understood, the performances needs to be felt, and therefore the viewers are an important part of the show: they contribute to the story, completes the plot and add commentary.
The theater produces performances and plays for adults and children, and every year it tours overseas and in festivals around the world.
Booking shows for groups and events is available as well as a meeting with the artists.
