Assaf Lavi opened Malka Brewery in 2006 out of love of nature and a passion to promote beer culture in Israel. The first batch beers Assaf brewed went through tasting sessions with culinary professionals. After exacts recipes were decided, Assaf loaded cases of Malka Pale Ale, Blond Ale and Stout onto his pickup and made his way to deliver them in Tel Aviv.
In 2008 the brewery settled in kibbutz Yehiam, at the foot of Yehiam Fortress, surrounded by Galilean views facing the sea.
Ever since, the brewery specializes in making ales the traditional way and in small amounts.
The production process begins with using the highest quality raw materials and carries on with strict quality control and uncompromising finale product standards.
The water used in the beer making process come from Gaaton Springs, adjacent to the kibbutz – and its simply delicious.
Assaf Lavi owned two bars in Tel Aviv, but he decided to leave the big city for the ecological village Clil to explore and experiment with brewing beer.
Queen’s Court – In 2010, Queen’s Court (Malka in Hebrew means queen) was opened next to the brewery at Kibbutz Yehiam. The Court borders a natural grove overlooking Yehiam valley and Haifa Bay.
On weekends the Court serves different Malka draft beers with snacks and light meals.
On Thursdays, sunset live shows are sometimes also on the menu, you are welcome to ask.
Overtime, the court became a favorite hangout spot for locals and visitors from all over Israel.
During the week group visits and private events can be booked.
Malka Beer Salon – the Queens Salon was opened at the brewery’s new production hall. Here you can sit with friends, drink fresh beer and enjoy tasty food from the kitchen. Groups visits and tours are also available.
