Edna and Eyal Hefer’s farm (Meshek Hefer) at Mitzpe Abirim is right in the middle of a natural grove with wild landscapes and beautiful roads leading to Kziv stream and the surrounding area.
Eyal and Edna started off as a couple of guides in a youth movement and when they were 23, after their army service and the 1982 Lebanon War, they came to Abirim to build their farm.
The farm developed with the physical features of the land and the need to incorporate it with Eyal’s many years work in education.
The foundation to sustaining the farm is self-sufficiency, as was taught at home and in the youth movement. Since all farm work is done by family members, a trust system of self-service was developed. There are three cash boxes around the farm and guests self-pay.
Eyal has been teaching compassionate communication workshops for families and groups for many years. He developed a method called Horses Connecting People and welcomes all visitors to the farm with a horse in one hand, a goat in the other and a big smile.
Eyal, his wife Edna and their children who work with them, create and keep a relaxing home environment.
The farm has a goat pen, horses, overnight camping complex and two cabins, coffee area, shared refrigerators, sinks and barbecue, ice cream and beer coolers, hammocks and self-payment cheese and wine cooler.
The farm offers self-driven Ranger car (off-road vehicle) tours in the beautiful surrounding scenery.
When you set off on your own for a Ranger drive, you’ll get a map, Ranger car and picnic basket.
You can also book romantic horseback riding and workshops.
Every Friday afternoon Meshek Hefer holds Fun at the Farm and invites you to enjoy the peace, nature and special atmosphere.
