Dor, a certified tour guide with a bachelor’s degree in Land of Israel Studies, has always loved traveling around Israel and getting to know it on foot or by biking. He was born to an American mother and an Israeli father.
At 14, he moved to Chicago with his family, where he graduated high school. Dor then moved back to Israel to serve in the army as a fighter and once his service was finished, he set out to explore the world.
After 2 years, he decided to come back to Israel and study tour guiding to share the beauty of Israel with many people.
Today, Dor specializes in guiding groups and families, mainly English speakers. The tours he creates can revolve around a theme or region, be challenging or easygoing but mostly very informative, since Dor loves sharing his knowledge.
“Ever since I can remember, my dream was working with people… with time I decided to study what I love doing best – touring. I love to tour around Israel and I have a very strong connection to this country. I love showing it through my eyes.”
Western Galilee Now is a registered non-profit grassroots organization (NGO) promoting awareness and appreciation for the region’s boutique wines, beers, food and produce, along with its cultural diversity, its historic traditions and the area’s scenic routes nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea acting as a Chamber of Commerce to boutique tourism operators in the region.
We expose the visitors to the unique heritage and hospitality through workshops, culinary events, art, music, guides tours, festivals and also through our Tourist Information Center in Akko, owned by JNF USA which we were chosen to operate since Jan. 2016.
Our vision is to develop local and foreign tourism based on close cooperation between all the interested parties in the region.
