Shirat Ro’im – house of Cheeses, is located on Kibbutz Lotam in Misgav nestling between green hills.
Adjoining the Shirat Ro’im Dairy is the “Home of Cheeses” open on Fridays, Saturdays, on the eve of festivals and on festivals.
This is the place to sample our full range of cheeses, to watch the cheese-making and ripening process, and to be our guests over a delicious platter of cheeses and the house menu based entirely on our dairy’s cheeses.
During Daylight Saving’s Time we’re open from 10.00-17.00,
and throughout the rest of the year from 9.00-16.00.
A cheese-making workshop is also available.
Michal Mor Melamed, the dairy’s cheese-maker, is a veteran speech and language therapist who stumbled across the world of cheese by chance. Today Michal is an international judge for prestigious cheese competitions around the world.
Western Galilee Now is a registered non-profit grassroots organization (NGO) promoting awareness and appreciation for the region’s boutique wines, beers, food and produce, along with its cultural diversity, its historic traditions and the area’s scenic routes nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea acting as a Chamber of Commerce to boutique tourism operators in the region.
We expose the visitors to the unique heritage and hospitality through workshops, culinary events, art, music, guides tours, festivals and also through our Tourist Information Center in Akko, owned by JNF USA which we were chosen to operate since Jan. 2016.
Our vision is to develop local and foreign tourism based on close cooperation between all the interested parties in the region.
