Jullius Distillery was opened in 2008 by Yuval (Joov) Har Gil.
Today, Jullius Distillery is at Kibbutz Hanita, facing intoxicating views, where Joov makes Akko gin in his German distiller machine, Eau De Vie distilled grapes, and schnapps from Galilean fruit like mandarins, oranges and citron.
All of the manufacturing processes are manual and completely natural, from selecting raw materials to bottling and packing.
These manufacturing principles, combined with small distillation cycles, make each Jullius bottle a one-of-a-kind, high quality and rare creation, complete with a serial number and signature.
Jullius Distillery keeps to sustainability principles and is one of the only distilleries in the world operated by solar energy. All Jullius products are Kosher.
You can also visit to hear about the creative process, taste a variety of products and get intoxicated from the flavors and gorgeous views and with advance booking also enjoy an excellent food menu on-site.
Joov, media man and former food and liquor critic, decided to turn theory into practice and make alcohol himself.
Western Galilee Now is a registered non-profit grassroots organization (NGO) promoting awareness and appreciation for the region’s boutique wines, beers, food and produce, along with its cultural diversity, its historic traditions and the area’s scenic routes nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea acting as a Chamber of Commerce to boutique tourism operators in the region.
We expose the visitors to the unique heritage and hospitality through workshops, culinary events, art, music, guides tours, festivals and also through our Tourist Information Center in Akko, owned by JNF USA which we were chosen to operate since Jan. 2016.
Our vision is to develop local and foreign tourism based on close cooperation between all the interested parties in the region.
