Elmarsa is owned by Marwan Suwaed and by Chef Alaa Musa, who began his career when he was just 15 as a dishwasher at Uri-Buri, went on to the Royal Beach Hotel in Eilat, Carmela Ba’Nahalah, and the Michelin-starrred Swedish restaurants, @F12, La Rose and Operakallaren.
Chef Musa gives his own fresh interpretation to authentic Galilee Arab cuisine, adding a new twist and worldly aroma to the time-honored traditional cuisine. The menu offers fish, seafood and meat, as well as authentic elements from his mother’s kitchen, using modern cooking techniques to give them an innovative, contemporary touch. The fish and seafood are fresh from the day’s catch – from the fishermen’s net straight to the table. The ingredients, produce and herbs come fresh from the local market. The tasting meal allows you to sample the creativity of Chef Alaa Musa to the full. First of all he checks your preferences or any food sensitivities you may have, and if you give him free rein he begins delivering hors d’oeuvres to the centre of your table (according to the number of diners + another dish or two) for shared tasting. This is followed by the seafood and fish dishes, and then the meat. Finally, of course, there’s dessert, with our flagship knaffeh being highly recommended. If a dish is less to the taste of the diners, it can be returned to the kitchen and replaced with another. The price of the meal is not pre-set, as it’s based on the number of dishes served and their price.
Alaa Musa, who always dreamed of cooking, traveled to Europe and worked at several Michelin-starred restaurants. When he returned to Israel, he decided to open a restaurant with Marwan So’ad, a childhood friend, and together they have been running Elmarsa restaurant since 2012.
