Nurit Poran is engaged in the world of food for over 25 years.
Nurit, Kfar Vradim resident, is the granddaughter of bakers and restaurateurs, daughter of a cook mom, and enthusiast of markets, good food and side roads.
Nearing her 40th birthday, Nurit decided to leave the food industry, where for 20 years she’s worked as a procurement manager, and set off on a new adventure.
Nurit was on a mission to open her dream business – Nurit’s World – where all her great passions come together: markets, food and people.
For the past 6 years, Nurit has been leading people through the alleys and markets of the Western Galilee, revealing the local foods, introducing them to local peoples and combining culture and cuisine.
Come join her on a culinary tour in Old Akko, or between the alleys of the Christian village Tarshiha, and experience authentic Galilean flavors while meeting other local food lovers.
Nurit invites you to join her for a visit through colorful markets, fragrant herbs and pastries and enter homes with kitchens dating 5000 years in history.
If you aspire for something further away, Nurit gives culinary tours overseas as well.
Western Galilee Now is a registered non-profit grassroots organization (NGO) promoting awareness and appreciation for the region’s boutique wines, beers, food and produce, along with its cultural diversity, its historic traditions and the area’s scenic routes nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea acting as a Chamber of Commerce to boutique tourism operators in the region.
We expose the visitors to the unique heritage and hospitality through workshops, culinary events, art, music, guides tours, festivals and also through our Tourist Information Center in Akko, owned by JNF USA which we were chosen to operate since Jan. 2016.
Our vision is to develop local and foreign tourism based on close cooperation between all the interested parties in the region.
