The center was established by JNF-USA and is managed by Western Galilee Now – a small businesses consortium.
These days you can enjoy the exhibition “Good Thing There Was A Painter There” – an exhibition that recreates the signing of a petition for world peace in the city of Akko in the 1950s.

Kashash Sweets is a business going back four generations, which produces every morning, 22 types of traditional Akko sweets. You can choose between types of baklava with pistachios, almonds, cashews, and even chocolate or decide between three different types of knafe.

Elmarsa restaurant is an excellent chef restaurant located in the port in front of an amazing view. The menu combines European and Akko-style cuisine and offers a diverse selection of meat, fish, seafood dishes, and salads.

The locals in Old Akko are wonderful cooks and love to host! Get to know the locals up close, their culture, customs, and way of life, while enjoying the excellent Akko-Arab cuisine, and also learning to cook some of these selected dishes so that you can reproduce the taste at home as well.
The Yasmine House of Miryam Eik, born in Akko, is a four-hundred-year-old Ottoman building located in one of the small alleys of the old city. It is a beautiful house with a high and painted ceiling where Miryam, an excellent cook, hosts in a large space in the center of the house families and groups who want to enjoy her dishes and the wonderful house. And if you want to sleep there, there are also guest rooms available. Just ask!

Beit Elfarasha: Authentic Akko Cooking
Beit Elfarasha is located in a picturesque alley in the heart of the old city, in a beautiful and renovated Ottoman building. It was founded by Cathy Raff, whose vision was to establish a place inspired by women and for women. There are cooking workshops from the Akko-Arab cuisine and the instructors are local women who teach and share the secrets of the kitchen that have been passed down in their families from generation to generation. Here, too, there are highly recommended guest rooms. You can book private workshops as well!

In recent years, the Artists’ Quarter has developed in Old Akko. Galleries, workshops, and artists were attracted to the special beauty of ancient Akko. Don’t get confused. There are no horses here and it is not a swimming beach either. It’s just an amazing spot on the beach, with a promenade, benches, and tables.
